Nature’s Sunshine’s Top Herbs For Stressed Pets
How can you be certain that your pet is stressed or not? At times it can be completely obvious to us when our fur baby is high strung. However, animals are very good at hiding distress or discomfort as a survival mechanism. Even though they live among us and not in the wild, our animal companions still carry their natural instincts. For this reason, it is very important that we pay close attention to their behavior and mannerisms.
Another important point to keep in mind, is that stress can manifest into physical ailments and/or behavior issues.
Some examples for a stressed dog are skin issues, panting (without heat), yawning, whining, pacing, destructive behavior, not eating, shaking, licking excessively causing hotspots, tail tucking, separation anxiety, and/or hiding.
Some examples for a stressed cat are, excessive grooming, separation anxiety, night howls, bald spots, hissing, biting, not using the litter box, hitting, meowing excessively, and/or not eating.
As frustrating as this can be as an owner, it’s important to keep in mind that our animals are not maliciously misbehaving out of spite. When animals present unpleasant behavior, it is them trying to get our attention that something is off. Either with them or with you and they are trying to let you know.
As an animal communicator, I would say 99% of the time when I communicate with people’s animals, they are telling me their concerns about their human parents. Allow me to elaborate, animals are energy sponges, they pick up on our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states. They try to take it on for us, but this can leave them burned out on any or all of these levels for them.
Our four legged earth angels selflessly help us to see our imbalances through them. This is why in most cases, I recommend that the pet parents take these wonderful herbs with their animals. It is also an opportunity to look inward to see what is going on within you. It’s the least you can do if your fuzzy angel who is going to all that trouble to get your attention.

Here We Have Nature’s Sunshine’s Top Herbal Combinations for Your Stressed Pet
Zerenity
Zerenity is a gentle herbal supplement that wears off approximately 6 hours after administering. This is a good supplement to give for certain situations such as separation anxiety or event causing stressors. Give this to your stressed pet before you leave the house, before that stressful trip to the vet, those loud fireworks or an unexpected house guest and so on. The best way to administer Zerenity, I find, is to sprinkle some in there food. For finicky eaters, I would start getting them used to it before the stressful event if it is to be used superatically.
AD-C
AD-C is a chinese herbal combination product that is well known for various emotional issues, including anxiety. This herbal combination helps with fear and worry. However, it wears off after about 4 hours or so. Having said that, you can give your pet this herbal combination before the stressful event.
Zerenity and or AD-C can be given by mixing them into your cat or dog’s breakfast on the day of the stressful event, or before you leave them alone for separation anxiety. If your animal’s anxiety is severe and the herbs don’t seem to be enough, it might be time to look into a cat or dog behaviourist. Remember, cats and dogs are not out to maliciously “get” us, they are doing their best to communicate something to us without the ability to use words. So be kind and be patient with your pet.
