As we know, animals are really good at hiding their pain and discomfort, making it very difficult for us to know if there might be a problem. Many times pain is misunderstood as “bad behaviour”, resulting in punishment or an animal being labeled as a bad dog or cat. We need to pay close attention to our fur babies to look for signs of discomfort or a change of some kind in time. Things to look for in your animals are:
- A change in their gait.
- Are they limping?
- Restlessness or unsettled.
- More quiet than normal.
- May appear withdrawn or sleepy.
